Latin Quote You Have To Think About
“Omne lumen potest extingui
Intellectus est lumen
Intellectus potest extingui” — Arthur Schopenhauer
I found this quote in a book called “The Art of Being Right” by Arthur Schopenhauer.
Besides the topic of this article this book talks about Eristics and shows 38 ways of how to win an argument, sometimes in very inappropriate way.
Alright but back to the topic.
The translation of this quote is:
All light can be extinguished
Intellect is light
Intellect can be extinguished
From all of the human kind starting from the ancient people of Babylonia, ancient Romans, philosophers like Epictetus, Lucius Seneca and even more.
All of those knowledgeable persons knew what matters and what has the most power in our universe.
You can call it: wisdom, intelligence, intellect, knowledge, experience, enlightment, understating.
I can name several more how would you like to call it, but that’s not the point of it.
We live in a world ,where the person ,which can shape our way of thinking is the most powerful.
I don’t personally think of it as something terribly bad, because we need people which will show us how the life goes, the closest example for that would be our parent.
However, we tend to see more people use their manipulative tactic in ordet to get the crown of power. We can see it in politician, rebels, sect groups or maybe even your co-workers, and school friends.
What I want you to remember is simple.
Your mind is a temple, and you are the one which can open the gate for information which some people will provide for you.
They can bring Trojan Horse or a real gift which you might want to pay back in future.
The moral of this article is simple.
Sort out your brain, and recognize the Trojan Horse before you let him into your sanctuary.
I hope you enjoyed the article !
Have a lovely day, to everyone who’s reading it ❤
